Okay - let's have a little fun. Here is what I would like to know about you my new support group. Everyone can play along. PreOP Friends: What are some of the things you would like to buy, obtain, do, or give once you have met goal. PostOP Friends: Have you been able to do any of the above yet if so what was it? Goal Obtainer Friends: Have you fulfilled those initial dreams? If so how did it feel? If not why not? Here are my three that I would like to do when I hit goal: (I am 71 pounds away from goal) (forgive any mental image that might make you uncomfortable) 1. Stand butt naked in front of my husband and know I look good!!! 2. Buy a matching bra and panty set from Victoria Secrets. 3. Go back to Memphis and find Richard and poke him and say... "nice personality but too much fat for you!!" then walk away! (he was a memeber of my church - not very Christian) Okay I have a ton more and I am writing them down so I can check them off. Now let's hear from some of you. Have a fantastic weekend Hugs from Heaven Melinda

I am 7 months post op and have met a few of my goals. 1. Go for a bike ride with my kids. It was awesome they had to keep with me! 2. Both my boys can now get their arms all the way around me, they were more excited than I was. 3. My husband says I'm getting too thin! Can't even imagine I still have a long way to go before I reach goal. A few goals I would like to reach. 1. For my hubby to pick me up and swing me around. 2. Get rid of CPAP machine. 3. Get to a large in clothes. THE MOST IMPORTANT GOAL THAT I HAVE THE REST OF MY LIFE! To just realize that our differences are what make us special and that when it comes down to it, a size IS NOT who I am. I'm a good mother, a loving wife, a caring daughter, a special aunt, and a loyal friend and my life is good! And that is the goal I hope for all of you making this journey!

This sounds like fun..... I am a Pre-op friend..... This really took some soul searching as there are so many goals to choose from!!! HHHMMMMM..... 1. What will I buy? A pretty 'little' dress or nice dress clothes and some make-up. If you knew me, you would say 'no way!'. I am a T-shirt and jeans kind of gal with a plain face! Don't have the bod for COMFORTABLE dress clothes and make-up runs off with the sweat! 2. What will I obtain? better health!! 3. What will I do? Fly to Phoenix and stay with my aunt, knowing I will be able to site see and get around in the heat without 'dying' and being embarassed etc. AND swim in her pool! AND fit in the plane seat like a normal person, not like a sauage! Secondly, I will get down in the sandbox and play with my niece, and not worry about how to get back up! (and other varies activities that 4 yo do!!) 4. What will I give? More of my time to this wonderful board. Happy Saturday to all......

Sheila, Thanks for responding. There had been some unhappy messages these past few days and I needed a pick me up. When I hear preop & postop listing goals I often think .... how much we are all alike. Stay with us during the good bad and ugly. We all understand... Hugs from Heaven Melinda

Lyn, Thanks for the giggles.... you are awesome. I know you must be glad to have gotten rid of the night visitor. I bet you would look great in a red slinky thing. You will have to take pictures and let us all see. Thanks for the post Melinda

I am 3 weeks post op.... 1. My first goal might seem a *****ildish, but I can't wait till I am thin enough to go to an amusement park and ride every single roller coaster and not have to worry if I will fit or not. Being that I'm 21 and have always been heavy, I haven't rode a roller coaster in a LONG time. It is torture on family vacations every year going to amusement parks with my little sis and brother, and not being able to ride rides. 2. I look forward to the day when I can buy clothes somewhere other than Lane Bryant! (although Lane Bryant has been good to me and kept me in style) 3. I am excited for the day when I can fly to visit friends and relatives again without being humiliated.
