medicaid/medicare please help

hi everyone can someone tell me if you go to the doctor then get a hold of them? this is the thing.kids are on title 19 had a rny in 1999 have gained 40 lbs back am looking into a revision to a ds. i also have a hernia. i have no insurance and do not want to go out of country for this surgery. please someone help thanks pam

Hi Pam I am on Title 19, and had the Gastric Bypass December 22, 2003 in Grinnell, Iowa. Title 19 paid for mine. But I am not sure about revisions. I would think they would if it was medical needy. But then I'm really not sure. I started at 350 and now at 230. Just in 8 months. Take Care I hoped this helped you, if not, I apologize. Lisa Young

Hi Pam! Medicaid covered my open RNY. From my understanding, RNY is the only WLS covered by them...the rest are considered to be 'experimental' to them. I also do not know if they cover revisions or not...but they might if it is proven to be a mechanical failure on the part of the pouch. If it is due to lack of exercise, diet, etc., highly doubtful.
