Ready or not - here I go!

Well in a day and a half I will be on the losing side! It's finally hit me - I'm scared to death tonight as I write this. I met with my surgeon for the last time tonight and he did stress that I am high risk being 410 lbs and because I have severe sleep apnea. I know he has to tell me all the risks and I knew them - the approval just happened so fast that it hasn't hit me til now. I know there will be times when I will ask myself what was I thinking but when I'm down 2 people...lol....I will say why didn't I do this sooner! My surgery is Open RNY at St. Lukes Regional Medical Center in Sioux City on Wednesday morning the 11th at 11:00 a.m. The address is 2720 Stone Park Blvd, Sioux City, IA 51104. Phone number is (712) 279-3500. I will have my mom call Janet and let her know how it went and I hope Janet will post for me. Please send positve prayerful thoughts that day to me! One question I asked my surgeon was if he believed in God - may sound dumb - and I'm not a very religious person but it was good to know he was and I said that all I ask of the medical team is that all that goes in that operating room is positive thoughts throughout the whole procedure. My parents, my ex-fiance, Jim, are going up Tuesday night and going to have my "last super" at the Outback Steakhouse...lol We are staying overnight and then my life begins anew! WOW carol, I am so glad you got it approved and everything, I Have been with you on this *walk* for a while now.. waiting for you to get approved, I am soOO happy you got it approved! Good luck and ENJOY outback, I miss it! lol. I still go there sometimes (now at a year out I can go back, and have half a steak, hehe) Let us know! HUGS Judi

Carol, My dad also took me out for "last supper" just had to have that steak! It's been a long time coming for you, you'll do fine. Just listen to Dr. Shinnerl!! And make sure you get up & WALK WALK WALK. DON'T lay around in bed that's the worse thing you can do. Not sure if I'm babysitting or how late I am but will try to make it over to see you.
