What is the best and fastest way to get rid of a cold? I have surgery on Thursday for an EGD and a D & C and I know they won't do it with this cold. I just got the cough overnight. Any suggestions will be helpful? I've been doing Vitamin C 1,000 mg. Can't drink Orange Juice (have irriable Bowel - will go right out). Thanks Sincerely Lisa Young

How about some zinc lozenges or echineacia??? Also take some tylenol cold tabs.....Hope you start to feel better jesi

Feel Better Soon.... I love Alka-Seltzer gel caps. When I have a cold/flu I take then and in about 24 hours I feel a lot better. Also drink lots of water and blow your nose often this will help flush the bug out. On surgery day as long as your chest is not junky, you have no fever, and are up for the case then they should go ahead with it. Feel better Melinda
