8/2 Goals and Roll Call
Andrea:
I am usually a lurker, but thought I'd give the goals a try! I'm 4 months postop and - 79.5 lbs so far!! I'm finding that I'm getting a few cravings and an appetite , so this week my goals are:
1. Limit the snacking, make healthy choices
2. Drink 64 oz + of water daily
3. Limit carbs
4. Up the protein intake
Good luck this week to everyone! DeeAnn R.
Deeann,
Hi - so nice to see you not lurking anymore! I was just wondering how you were doing! By that weight loss, sounds like you are doing well. Nix that snacking monster as soon as possible - let me tell you, it's horrible!! Sounds like we all have carb issues this week. Too bad we couldn't start a collective bank to pitch in a dime for every carb snack that we weren't supposed to have. I alone would make us a rich message board! I just may have to do that myself!
God bless,
Andrea

Thanks for your support, you give so much to this message board!! That's a good idea to put money in a jar when we do something that's a no-no, or don't do something we should! I should start that, I could save up for my post op wardrobe! I'm experiencing the "baggies" alot right now, but what a good feeling!! Take care, I'll try to post more and lurk less!! DeeAnn
Evening All.....
I ran up to the hospital today just to drop in and weigh. Well I have been blessed once again.... 5lbs more is somewhere else than on me. I was totally surprised because I had not been that great last week.
Here are my goals for the week....
1. Start some true exercise program.
2. Get all of my water in.
3. Find the best time a day to take my vitamins.
4. Do something nice for my husband this week.
5. Try a new vegatable: butter nut squash.
6. Loose 3lbs for next Monday's roll call.
I am so grateful to all of you... thank you to whom ever it was that turned me on to the IA boards. Have a lovely week.....

Melinda,
Hi = great goals this week. Another 5 pound loss is wonderful! Exercise, water, vitamins - we've all been there and done that. I still have to watch to be sure to get all supplements in daily. I don't always do well.
I love that you put number 4 in there. Hubbies can be high maintenance, especially when they see their loved ones change so much and get more attractive. (I love the attention that I get from mine!)
By the way - probably it was Elizabeth that posted on your surgery support page to check out the Iowa boards. She is awesome and on the ball when it comes to inviting more to this wonderfully supportive community! That's what we are here for - support for one another.
Good luck on all goals,
God bless,
Andrea
Elizabeth,
You're the one who started all of this when I first signed on to OH. You were the one that came to my surgery support page and told me about the Iowa boards and you still are posting to new pages! Wow - 600 pages - you must be busy. I have a hard time replying to all of the posts, myself. Now, if we get another 600 posting............................. I'm sure that you have lots to say that we will be interested in. Besides, I go back to school the end of August and will probably be on here less than I am now. See, we need you!!
God bless,
Andrea
Lyn,
Don't we often forget to say "thank you" to God. I especially enjoy my walk in the morning - not many people are up and moving and I walk for about an hour and 15 minutes (4 miles). That leaves me with a lot of time to commune with God. Now, to only be able to totally trust and have faith in our LORD.
God bless,
Andrea
