IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!
Hi everyone!!
First off, let me say how floored that I was to the number of responses to my post "update on my tummy". You all continue to amaze me each time you lift me up in thoughts, prayers and well-wishes. I'm so sorry if any of this ever appears to sound vain - because, truly, it is not meant to be.
Secondly, GREAT AMERICA WAS AWESOME!!! I rode so many rides! We hit the Demon roller coaster as soon as we entered the park. Then, the Viper and the American Eagle and other rides in between. I hit three differen****er rides and did not feel like a cow when hearded between the bars while waiting in line, (and.....my legs did not hurt from wet denim rubbing together all day!) My feet weren't sore at all at the end of the day, either. As a matter of fact, I could have kept going when dh and my son said that they had had enough at about 8:00 p.m.
It was "funny" that when in lines for rides, people even talked with me more and seemed to smile more. Funny how changes in me affect others. Also reminds me of how much the world discriminates against those that are overweight.
My hubby, who would occasionally put an arm around me or grab me and give me a big hug - said that he saw other men "scoping" me out. Like - in who's reality is that going to happen??? I think that he was just being paranoid. It's all right, though because I loved every bit of the attention from him!
Eating went all right. Only had troubles one time and that was Wednesday afternoon when we stopped at Taco Bell for lunch. I ate some plain nachos with cheese sauce and refried beans. After that, we went to the Bass Pro Shop Outdoor World to begin our day of shopping at the Gurnee Mills Mall when I dumped on something I ate. I had to sit in the lobby of the Pro Shop and eventually fell asleep because I was so ill. Even woke up one time with slobber all over my hand!! It took a good 45 minutes to an hour before I felt better. Has anyone else ever had reactions like that to Taco Bell? I always heard that they were really good for us. Other than that experience, my tummy did not bother me except for the little nausea every now and then like I usually have, (except, of course, for after the "Octopus" ride that my son talked me into going on !)
Like I said, it was an awesome first trip as a "not so fat" person. I felt almost normal in a sea of normalcy. Is that a good thing? (UH OH, getting philosophical, obviously, I am still very tired (didn't get home till 2:00 a.m. this morning and toddler was up at 7:00). Going to get off here and try to rest. For any of you that I have not responded to your posts, I will try to get to them tonight. In the meantime, know that I am here for you, as are others on this board.
Thanks again for the thoughts and God bless,
Andrea
P.S. A lot of you need to get new pics on here because these old ones don't do you justice. You know who you are!! Let's see those cutie faces!!
Andrea,
Hello.... Funny/weird when you start losing weight people treat you differently. I guess it sad more than anything. I am glad you had a good time. I love to ride and can't wait until the "FF" (Fat Fears) go away.
Taco Bell - what made you dump was the cheese/chips. That is not real cheese - it originates from a mix that has sugar in it. The beans and cheese are a good thing. Also a burrito supreme without the meat is good - the meat has a lot of grease and will cause the dumps. My favorite is a regular bean burrito with extra sauce to keep it moist.
Thanks for all you do for the board.....
Melinda
Melinda,
Tell me more about the cheese dip and the mix that it originates from. I have never heard of that before and the cheese is my fav. Of course, the chips and cheese were only treats anyway, but sounds like I need to steer clear of them both!!! Fill me in, please.
..... and, you're welcome. I try to be here for everyone and what I get in return is immeasurable!!! I figure if we all keep sending well wishes and support to at least one person on here daily, we will have the most positive state boards on this site!!
God bless,
Andrea

I am so happy for you! It is cool to be able to do regular things that other people do. It is amazing how weight effects every part of your life. I think we have to remember (as we get smaller) what it is like to be overweight and really advocate for those who either have not been able to choose WLS or cannot make the choice. We have to be the ones to stand up and let people know that just being nice to someone in line means so much (it amazes me how many people just start up conversations with me now that would just give me a LOOK before).
Good for you Andrea! Hope your tummy is behaving! Keep chewing.

Andrea, Iam so glad that you had such a wonderful time.We I could do rides but it is not for me. I really do like to go and watch the kids though. Iam glad that your tummy did not give you any trouble while you were gone. I have ate taco bell and have not had any problems.Hope to see you again soon. Take care.Kelley
Kelley,
Thanks for responding. I don't know how often I will do roller coasters because my head hurt every time after I rode one. I think that it shook my brain too much! Anyway - that taco bell got the best of me and I won't be eating it again too soon!!
Now, will you please update your pic? Everytime I look at your picture, I think that it isn't you!
God bless,
Andrea
