I started this process on July 10, 04 and now here I am 15 days later with my PCP appt out of the way, the nurse consult out of the way and with in the next two weeks I have a sleep study, a meeting w/surgeon, pysch eval, and a dietary class. Is this normal for it to go so fast? Michelle

Yes... When I went to the April 10th meeting I had the same reaction you did because within a week I had part of the stuff out of the way and the rest of it scheduled. Now, depending on how your sleep study goes (in mine I found out I had apnea) It could go faster or slow down a bit. But chances are (and depending your insurance) within 3 months of your informational meeting...you'll be having surgery. Hang in there! Kelly B.

Everything moves really fast at this point and then when you are scheduled it seems like time stops and your surgery date never gets here then boom.... all of a sudden it is the night before your surgery and you feel you have a ton of things to get done. Then the next thing you know you are waking up from anesthesia. Journal as much of this part as you can... I wish I had. Take care.... Melinda

Michelle, Yep - it seems that everything moves fast during this part of the journey. All the tests seem endless, though. Hang on - you're in for the ride of your life. Don't worry, though, we're here with you! God bless, Andrea
