Kendra, My prayers are with you tomorrow. I will think of you when I have my upper GI. I think that I have the easier procedure of the two, sorry. Try to get some rest tonight and we look forward to hearing from you post op. Let us know how things go. God bless, Andrea

Things are looking up here for me I think! This weekend we are going to Madison, WI for a family reunion.. so my big goal is to not get depressed about it, and keep eating good food while I am up there, bring plenty of water with and do lots of walking up there, around everywhere Tomorrow I go to Grinnell for a check up again, on my bowels, and see how things go down there. I havent lost much again though, (of course bloating this week because of woman stuff) doesnt help! Get back on the wagon here and drink more water, and more walking! woohoo for me! Judi

Judi, Your losses thus far are tremendous. I know that you will do well during the family reunion. I read something on the main boards about when you are at a place with so much food and gazing around at what to eat, just grab something protein and eat it and the other cravings may go away, or at least you may have more control after you eat that little something. (Wait, isn't that considered a meal for us?) Anyway, hope that your check up goes well. Let us know what the doc says. God bless, Andrea

Did okay last week on goals. This week, keep trying to increase fluids. Keep trying to eat meat. I've taken a aversion to it right now. I'm trying to decide if it really hurts when I eat meat or if it's me not chewing enough or if I'm eating too fast. Don't have a problem with mushy, liquid stuff. Only meat and big gulps of water. I've kept my protein up with shakes and cheese. But I gotta eat meat. Andrea, I hope they get to the bottom of your problems tomorrow and that is an easy fix. Have fun at Great American. Lyn

Lyn, Good luck on your goals. Take it easy on the meat. Maybe try ground beef or ground turkey or ground pork first before something really heavy. Sometimes I can eat part of a hamburger and sometimes I cannot. I haven't really had steak yet. Fish should be something easy that you could keep down. I, too get a lot of protein through cheese - something that causes me probs at times. Thanks for the well wishes. I will let everyone know what they say. And I WILL have fun at Great America! God bless, Andrea

Hi I'm trying to drink water, but can't keep it down. Can barely keep anything down, so I'm going back to Grinnell tomorrow. If I can get out of Marshalltown. (Ragbri is coming for an overnight stop). I feel so miserable after I eat. I have walked a little more. But need to do more. And try to get my bike out and ride that too. Otherwise, I think I'm doing all right. School starts in about a month. So I'm feeling that stress is coming fast, I still have to get my apartment organized. since mom can't come in and help me, she is still having major health problems. To me it's not fair, but what can I do. I start something then I can't finish. Yeah, I'm depressed too. I go see my counselor on Monday. I feel like crying all the time. Besides I have had my period for 3 months straight. My body is all screwed up. If I can keep something in, it just goes out the other end. (Have Irritable bowel syndrome). I do know that the surgery did help me. It's just that the Doctor and I were also hoping it would take care of all of my other problems. Sorry, I'm venting. it's better doing it this way than yelling at someone in person. Well, better close for now. But my goals is to walk more and hopefully drink more water. Take Care and thanks for your support you all mean so much to me. Love Lisa Young

Lisa, Hey, sorry to hear that you are having problems. Sometimes, life just doesn't seem fair, but try to see the silver lining in everything. There has to be some good in your life now. Try to find it and hold on to that when all else seems bad. I am glad to hear that you are seeing your therapist soon. I have an appointment with mine this Friday - if I am recooped from going out of town. Please keep us updated on what the surgeon says about your inability to eat. I'm glad that you are getting it checked out. Hang in there! God bless, Andrea
