Happy Tears Today...

Hi Jesi! I didn't know that you had PCOS, too...do you have the insulin resistance with it, too? I don't have the cysts on my ovaries (well, ovary...I only have one since my ectopic pregnancy in 2000); but, I have the rest of the wonderful things that go with it. If you have insulin resistance, what has your surgeon/endocrinologist told you about it? My surgeon is kind of clueless when it comes to PCOS; so, I am going by what my endocrinologist told me this month...keep my total carbs under 10-20 per day and my calories at no more than 800 per day...so far, I've had no problems sticking to those guidelines; but, I'm not nearly as far out as you. She also upped my Metformin (Glucophage) from 500 mg to 1000 mg per day...it was 1500 mg per day pre-op. My weight loss has seemed to pick back up a little since then...of course, I'm so scared of eating now, I'm living off of protein drinks and vitamin and calcium supplements...thank goodness all I have is head hunger and not real hunger (YET). I'm not faced with having to have a hysterectomy yet; but, I'm seriously considering having my other tube tied...I will be 37 before I'm supposed to try to conceive again...I'm thinking that may be a little old for me, though I would love to have another child.
