Happy Tears Today...
Hi Everyone!
I made it to a personal milestone in my life this morning...All my life, I have always been the fat kid and felt left out all the time, by family and peers. One of my absolute worst memories of childhood was from Jr. High school gym class, when we had to line up in front of the entire class to be weighed in...I weighed in at a whopping 206 pounds, at the age of 14 (I'm 5' 6" tall.).
Today, when I weighed in, I weighed 205.5 pounds...I now weigh less than I have in the last 20 years!
I know that I still have a long ways to go to reach my surgeon's goal; but, today was a defining moment and it made me believe that this surgery just may actually work for me...despite my set-back with my broken ankle and lack of the usual exercise that I had been doing previously. It has somewhat renewed my faith in myself that I am not the failure that I, and many others, have always said that I was/am.
Just remember, that no matter what is going on in your life, sometimes you just need to put yourself first...as long as you are not hurting others along the way.
Everyone have a wonderful and joyful weekend!!

Congrats, Sherry!!!
Man, P.E. class, that brings back horrible memories of weighing in, being picked last, not passing the presidential fitness awards and the mile run. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NEED TO SEE MY PSYCHOLOGIST NOW!!
Truly, what a wonderful milestone you have accomplished. Congrats over and over again.
God bless,
Andrea
Congrats Sherry!
It is such a great feeling and I agree with Andrea the memories of school and the dreaded pe class! I just pray my daughters do not take after me with weight problems. You never forget the pain of taunting and teasing. I am sooooo! happy for you and if you ever need a walking partner i would be happy to drive into town a couple times a week and walk with you. Just drop me a line. I do sometimes go and walk by the catholic church on the path around the gazebo. Good job and take care!Kim
