Mercy Capitol In Des Moines

I am going to the seminar on Thurs to start the process. I have not heard of anyone that has had surgery at that location or about the DRs. Can anyone provide me with information.

Susan...There are several of us on here who have had surgery at Mercy Capitol. My surgery was 4/27 with Dr. Susan Beck. I really like, trust, respect my surgeon, and have been happy with my results. Feel free to email me with any specific questions you have! Francie P Lap RNY 12 wks ago -52.5 lbs

Thanks for your message. I am looking forward to the meeting on Thurs I have so many questions, but am sure that this is the path that I need to take. I have read several book concerning the surgery and so many of them state that people have problems getting their surgery covered by their insurance company. Did you have problems? Thanks.

Hi, Susan. I went to the lecture on July 10th and I have heard nothing but good things about the clinic. I have a friend who is having her surgery there in Sept. She went there because her cousin had it done there and is doing great! I went to my first nurse visit yesterday. They were so nice. I nervous but everyone seems so nice. I meet my surgeon on the 3rd. I picked the Dr. that my friend and her cousin has. I like the program because you are truely a patient for life with them. They even told me that if I get pregnant after my 18 mo to 2 years post op, they will be there with me and point me in the right direction. I am very impressed with them so far. Good luck. Hi there! I just had my surgery last Monday. Feel free to read my profile. Though I haven't posted since then. Dr. Cahalan did my surgery and like Francie P. I very much like and respect him. He's a good guy. The program is very good. I had Lap RNY. I'm doing pretty well. Feel free to email me too with any questions. I see you had Dr.Cahalan do your sugery . He is also my Dr. and I am hoping everything goes through and I can have the lapband surgery in July.  Tell me how u r doing and are you glad you had it? Hope to hear from you.  Margo from Ames
