Good morning Gilda was just thinking of emailing you. I am glad to hear things are going good. You can put some neosporin on your incision sites I had gotten the maxium strength. It does help a little but it is just part of the healing process.
Are you keeping your feet up? Is the edema pitting or do you think your swelling from all the humitity? They do pump us full of fluids via IV's so it may take a while. Hopefully your sipping your water through out the day and watch your sodium intake. Maybe do some Jello and stuff it counts as your liquids. A teaspoon of jello would count as 5cc. so 6 teaspoons would count as an ounce. You can also have sugar free popsicles they counts as your liquids also. If you want I can personally email you with more. I feel like I am writing a book!
If your having pain try some tylenol. YOu can cru**** or get it in suppository form at the pharmacy. They also have extra strength tylenol in liquid form and I took only a half of a dose due to the sugar in it. Don't be in pain Gilda. How is your stress fracture is it feeling better?
Good news I am down 98 pounds! We'll both look really different when we see each other in a couple weeks! Take care! Kim
Welcome to the Loser's Side!! Sounds like you are doing good. I do pictures and measurements every month. I'm just a little over 3 mo out and it's neat to see the changes. Especially the pictures taken from the "back side." Never really thought about how I looked from that view!!! What a wake-up!!
Keep up the good work.
Janie
Gilda,
Welcome home and glad that things are going well. Keep up the walking, keep up the fluids and keep up the protein. Personally, I love sugar free Blue Bunny Bomb Pop popsicles. YUMMY!!! They fulfill the sweet tooth!
Not sure about the swelling. Actually, I noticed my ankles getting smaller shortly after surgery. Probably fluids, but if you are concerned, call your surgeon's office. About pics - we just take them whenever. My hubby actually forgets to take them and I want him to, now. Never used to want to be in pictures, but now, can't believe that it is me!!
Hang in there and keep up the good work,
God bless,
Andrea
