Warning - venting!!!

UGH! I'm so frustrated. I just received my approval letter and noticed that they have the wrong doctor's name on it. I opened the case, myself, and I know that I gave them the correct info. Also, a few days after opening the case they mentioned this same doctor's name and I told them that it was wrong and asked them to correct it. Obviously, they didn't. Of course, this shouldn't surprise me, since it took them almost a month to give us the correct fax number so that they could receive the clinicals. So, now I'm being told that my case will have to be re-decisioned -- which is really stupid because there is no such doctor as the one listed, so they apparently don't even check that info. I could scream! I'm on a really tight deadline to get this done (like within the next 3.5 weeks) before school starts -- otherwise I will likely have to wait until Christmas so I don't have to pull my girls out of school (I'm a single mom with no local support for recovery). I'm afraid that this is the nail in the coffin that will force me to wait. ARRRGGGHHH! Okay... I'm alright now... just needed to get that out of my system. Regards, Martha

Thanks, Andrea! You are always here to support us - even when we are whining. Actually, I have since called the surgeon's office to let them know about this glitch and they said that, because they don't think that this will affect the approval in any way, they will go ahead and and initiate scheduling of the surgery. I faxed them the approval letter since they had not yet received theirs (of course). However, they're not sure they will be able to schedule to meet my timeline, so I'm waiting anxiously for a phone call. Cross your fingers for me. Cheers! Martha

Hang in there.....the same thing happened with me.....When I got my approval letter it said I was approved for the surgery at a hospital in Madison Wisconsin......I was like OKAY??????? I too had to have my approval in hand for testing and what not.....I simply called them and told them they needed to change the hospital name on the approval and re-send it! I am in the same boat with you! I start back at college on Sept. 1st. I have been waiting since May and my insurance has been a pain and now I am waiting for my Doctor to sign off. I think I am driving them nuts from all the phone calls but they don't understand my predicament! I can't stand the thought of waiting till Christmas. You are so sweet! Clive is a suburb of Des Moines. The good news is... I just got a surgery date!!! August 10!!! This meets my deadline to be able to get the worst of the recovery over before school starts and I'm on my own. My advice is to keep after them -- be a real pest and it is easier for them to take care of it than deal with you every day. Good luck! Martha
