I am creeping up to my 2 year anniversary for my surgery, and things have been crazy. I was batteling back and forth with my insurance about plastic surgery and finally got an approval after a denial, then the weekend after I scheduled all my surgery stuff I found out that I am pregnant. This is a positive thing, since we went through years of infertility and then adopted 2 children. I am looking for anyone else that has had gastric bypass and then got pregnant, I would like to hear there experience with the pregnancy. I am currently 17 weeks along, and go back to the doctor today. Take care and feel free to email me direct at [email protected] Thanks, Stacey

Stacey, Wow - congratulations!!! What a blessing to have 2 adopted children and now to be pregnant!! I haven't had experience with pregnancy post-op, but Deb Paul who posts here often is also pg. She's not as far out as you are. Maybe you two can support each other through the next 6-7 months. By the way, we are nearly neighbors - I live in Long Grove, just north of Davenport. Good luck and congratulations, God bless, Andrea

Stacey, Oh my gosh! What a wonderful surprise for you and hubby!?!?!? Have you tried posting to the main board. I know there's got to be a least a few folks out there who are preggers. Afraid I can't give any info on the pregnancy deal but I'm so happy for you - my sis also struggled for many years before she had her hysterectomy. She and her husband adopted 4 kids. They are almost grown now but I know if she had had the means they would have adopted at least 2 more. Best wishes to you - hope that all goes super smooth for you. -Deb W.

Hey Stacey! Yes I'm PG too. I think I'm 10 weeks but not sure..I go to my 1st visit on Thursday. I am only 10 months post-op and a little nervous. I started drinking protein shakes again, but haven't seen and docs yet...I am wondering what other things I need to be doing...but I've been eating a little more of everything. Good Luck with your pregnancy! Deb Paul

Thanks for all of your support everyone!!! I went to the doctor yesterday and everything seems to be going good so far. My scar has been starting to hurt a little, stretching out. I think im going to get some vitamin E today and see if that helps. Congrads, and good luck to you Deb Paul! My suggestion is to make sure your taking your vitamins and eating right, you don't want to become anemic. I have had to eat about once an hour to not get sick. I try and make it something protein but I am human and pregnant So far I have only gained 5 pounds, which the doctor said I probably will only gain 15-20 then lose it all with the baby. I know that I have plenty of skin to fill out (it looks and feels gross). Anyway, take care and if anyone ever wants to talk im here!! Stacey
