YIPPEE!!!

Hello! I called my insurance company today to check on the status of my approval -- I didn't really expect an answer for another week or two, but my theory has been to make myself as much of a pain in the rear as possible so it is easier for them to decision it than deal with my inquiries. They had given us multiple incorrect fax numbers to send the clinicals to, and we were finally able to get confirmation of receipt on Monday, after I wormed yet another fax number out of a rep and gave it to my surgeon's office. However, when I asked for a status today I was told that it was approved! I was so shocked that he had an answer and that it was "APPROVED" that I asked him to repeat it twice! So, I've been trying to reach the insurance coordinator at the surgeon's office today to get the surgery scheduled. I'm a single mom with no local support and I'm hoping to get the surgery schedule before mid-August so that I can recover at my parents (about 2 hours south). Otherwise, I might have to wait until Christmas because I won't be able to pull my girls out of school for two weeks for my recovery. Anyway -- I never thought that I would be approved on first try, since I had a stomach staple 24 years ago. But, yippee, skippy, I'm in! Regards, Martha

Martha, How wonderful for you! It's a great moment when you get approved isn't it, and also kind of like a reality check????? Can I ask where you're from - my folks are about an hour and half south of here is why I ask - Wayne County - and that's where I'm from too. Anyway, best of luck to you.
