State Papers.....again
Okay all, I got my first appointment for ia. city in a week and a half..I'm excited..it's only with a pcp, but hey it's a start!!!! I'm just hoping that in the next month or so i can get an appointment with the digestive disease clinic where they house their wls surgeons...It's a glimmer of hope...Anyone had any experience at all with this program and wls so I should know what to expect?

I went through U of I.......I would call them now......The first thing they do is send you out lots of paper work.....then you have to send all that back in, and if they think you are a good candidate, then they schedule you an appt, and that is usually months away They don't charge anything to send out the paper work and get all of that stuff started....it is a long process, and I would start it sooner than later! If you want I can give you the number to the bariatric coordinators office and she can tell you exactly how long the wait is etc......If you want the name and number email me..... Jesi, I got all the paperwork from Iowa City, and have it all filled out..I am dealing with a social worker at U of I healthcare because I am on the state papers program..I have heard that it is a decent wait time to get in, but that it's worth the wait. As I said in my first post my first appointment is July 23, so please keep your fingers crossed..I'm very nervous, but very excited!!!!
