Info on U of I Bariatrics/ $

Steve Miller, is new to this board and posted a message several days ago. He is looking for some info on the bariatric program at the University of Iowa and the costs involved. Thanks Andrea for taking on the responsibility for being their in the time of help for someone who is so unknown to you. Your a wonderful person, and I wanted you to know that. I sure do hope someone can find something out for him. I feel his frustrations, and I hope that Steve will bare with things, and not give up. Good idea, Lizard Girl. Sometimes common sense eludes me Here is a copy of his questions: I am in the 'infancy' stage for sure @ all this. All I know is the medications I've been on and old age , etc, etc have combined to get more 150 lbs overweight and NOTHING seems to work to get it OFF! There was an obesity 'clinic' a DR David Hall that sent me some pre-op forms BUT when I sent them in I got back a letter saying my 'out-of-pocket 'expenses would be over $30,000 putting me WAY beyond this surgery . So I dont know what else to do. As I am a Iowa citizen does their University hospitals do 'pro-bono work. As I am on 'leave-of-absence ' tdue to all these medical problems. Including depression.
