I am just checking if anyone here has had the surgery with the state of Iowa employee BC/BS Classic Blue Program 3 insurance and if it covered their operation in full when you had your Roux-en Y laproscopic bariatric surgery?

Sorry, Steve, I don't know anything about the insurance program. I had two different insurances. I just wanted to say welcome to the Iowa boards. This really is a wonderful place with supportive people. Everyone here is so positive and full of praise for one another. I hope that you get some questions answered about the insurance. Please post often and ask away if there is anything else that we can help with and so we get to know you better. God bless, Andrea

I have that plan and i was covered by them for a open RNY I was approved last year and had a couple of extensions before i had surgery but it all went through with no hitches so far. I did hear that they made some changes to approval with Bc/BS but I would still check it out the criteria when I got approved was one year medical supervised weight loss I hear now its 3 years not sure if its true as I have seen no writing on this yet good luck and keep us posted hope this helped Bret

I have BCBS Program 3 Plus and they covered everything but the $600 deductable for both my open RNY in Grinnell and my Tummy Tuck in Iowa City. Let me know if you have any more questions (I'm usually not on this board...just happened to run across your post). I heard back with my approval from BCBS within a week.

Sorry...Laurie must have signed in Obesityhelp on my computer last weekend, so it automatically signed in under her when I got on tonight (I'm not on this site often anymore). It's ME (Robin) that has Program 3 Plus and had surgery in Grinnell and a tummy tuck in Iowa City.
