Hi gilda! I am glad to see you posted! This board is awsome for support and information. We have all been there and it is scarey leading up to the days to your surgery. Just remember the person you are doing this for and how much healthier and happier you will be! See you tomorrow at work! Kim

I was amazingly calm the day of surgery. I just knew it was the right thing to be doing, and it certainly has been. I prayed about it and a calmness came over me. I was apprehensive about being able to eat afterwards. Heck, some days I still am. It's a learning curve. Just remember that your pouch is smarter than you! Best of luck on Thursday! Lyn

Gilda, Best of luck to you on your surgery! This site is awesome isn't it? I don't think I would have had my surgery if it weren't for the info I got from here! To answer your question, I guess I wasn't nearly as concerned about the way my life would change as I was about how it WASN'T going to change IF I DIDN'T DO SOMETHING! I really wasn't a participant in life, I kind of watched from the sidelines. I'm not really out of my shell yet, as evidenced from my 'lurking' on this board instead of posting, but I'm trying and it's going to get better. Hoping you have an uncomplicated procedure and a speedy recovery! Welcome to the Iowa Board! -Deb W. Surgery: 10/14/04 254/174/148
