Drum Roll Please!!
I had my doc's appt yesterday for my blood work-up. I will go by my scales, thank you very much since there is about a 10 lb difference between his & mine. According to mine I've lost about 40lbs & their's say 31lbs. Regardless, of which one is "right" I'm doing the happy in more ways than one!! Last month I went off my blood pressure meds! BUT since I have type II diabetes been monitoring my blood sugars closely. On Wednesday I quit taking my meds to see how they would run. I was running 87-111 WITHOUT meds!! I'm off of them officially as of yesterday!!! Told the doc I had dropped them & of course I still have to keep an eye on things, BUT he told me I may have hit the point where I'm not going to need them anymore Made my day he did!!! I'm waiting now for my blood testing results from the doc, wonder if the cholesterol has come down enough that I will be dropping them also?! My daughter-in-law is a hair stylist & she will be perming my hair within a month! We have tried in the past to perm my hair but because of all the meds they just wouldn't take. Any regrets having this surgery? H*** NO! I even mowed the yard yesterday which I haven't been able to do in years! My energy level ha**** a high also, I'm actually able to do housework without getting worn down. I know I still have to watch myself, like the mowing, since my heart attack. I was leery at first about doing that, BUT I figured if I started getting tired or experienced anything out of the ordinary I could quit & get right to the doc. I see the cardio doc in a few months again so will be interesting to see what he has to say about my progress. Ok, I've probably said to much but I'm excited & just had to share!
Everyone have a good weekend!
Hugs,
Carolyn

Isn't it awesome to be able to mow and do all of that housework - wait a minute - what are we saying - we like to mow and do housework now that we are losing weight????????????????? Did we lose some brains, too?? I feel the same way - that the energy level increase is amazing!
Pat yourself on the back for me, and keep up the good work!
