Hi Everyone! Made it back from Denver safe & sound but extremely tired! Averaged about 12 hours sleep for the weekend which is usual when I go out there! I took my own meal along with me to the reunion as they were having spaghetti with all the fixin's to go along with it, but nibbled off the veggie tray. My cousin Jan is thinking of having WLS as well & she kept coming up to me saying she couldn't get over how much "willpower" I had not filling my plate with spaghetti & garlic bread! Actually I don't feel like I missed out on anything by not eating what everyone else was. Funny thing was they had a big chocolate cake sitting there & before surgery I would have been first in line to get my "share." When I saw it sitting there it actually turned my stomach! Imagine that! I was content eating a rolled up slice of turkey breast, yogurt & veggies. Like most people when they see us eat Jan couldn't get over the small amount that I had & couldn't believe I was full. I'm happy to say I'm down 30 lbs now, will be 2 months out on the 20th. I also went to Amazon.com & bought Susan Maria Leach's book "Before & After", it has some great recipes in it. Can't wait to try the Blueberry Cheesecake recipe. Also, when we fish we catch crappies & bluegills, anyone have a recipe for me to fix these? In the past we've always rolled them in pancake flour & fried them. I'm not a big fish eater but they do sound good. Not sure about baking them but if anyone has or knows of a way I can make them without frying would appreciate hearing from you! Last week I did try Blue Bunny's Splenda Rocky Road ice cream...way to sweet! Me say that???!!! Was to rich for my taste. My my isn't it wonderful that I can say that instead of sitting down & eating all of it? Would take me forever to eat it, but don't care for it so Katie can have it. Hugs, Carolyn
