Hi, this is my first time here

Hi, this is my first time here, I'm so glad a friend told me about this site. I look forward to having others in the same boat to talk with. I'm very excited yet somewhat nervous because on June 7th I got pre-approved for a Laparoscopic RNY from my insurance co. (Wellmark-Blue Advantage). I'm surprised it only took them a couple weeks to approve it. My surgeon will be Dr. Glas**** at Sartori Hospital in Cedar Falls, IA. His assistant estimated my surgery to be scheduled for sometime near the end of July or beginning of August. Wow...I'm in shock!

Welcome to OH board....Dr G is a great DR. I had my surgery with him on March 30, 2004. Jody W. -81.

Welcome and your in good hands with Dr. Glas**** he is an excellent surgeon and very thorough with pre and post op. I am 3 months post op and feel great! The staff at Sartori are great too. So Congrats on your upcoming surgery!

Hello Theresa, welcome to the board feel free to ask any questions we all are here for you. I had surgey last April I have lost 160 pounds i'm so glad I had it done I feel so much better. congrats and I will keep you in my prayers. Good luck to you. Laurie

Welcome Theresa to the OH board. Like I have found, I know you will to that this is one awesome site. Their are alot of people you can talk to about the surgery, as well as talk to about life in general. Not only are they here to listen to you, but they are here to be your friend. I to am so glad to have this site to go to. I have found out that if I do not check back here often though, like on a daily basis, well I seem to get behind on what's going on.
