Hi everyone. Just wanted to let you know that I'm still around...just not really in a sociable mood. My grandfather has been fighting the last few days in the final stages of death from cancer. I have never experienced a loss before, and this is very hard for me. He finally found peace night before last at 11:30pm. He is in a better place now, and our pain has changed to mourning. Before it was pain from him suffering and being in limbo. Now it's our own pain from the loss of a wonderful man. I am so glad i could have this surgery before he died. Every time he saw me he made over how fabulous i looked and how happy and proud he was of me for my accomplishment. It is something I'll always remember. Thank you all for listening. I'll be back online and running my mouth again soon...promise. ~~Dawn

You and your family have my deepest sympathies. It is so hard to lose someone. My grandmother passed away 23 yrs ago and I still miss her like crazy. Try to think of all the good times and that will help.

Dawn, I am so sorry for your loss. My grandparents were the best part of my childhood and when I lost my grandfather 10 years ago the week of Thanksgiving, I thought I would never truly recover. When I read your post I cried, I still miss him so much. My grandmother passed away on Mothers Day four years ago. I spent a great deal of time with her after grampa passed and I will never regret the time together. They were the best thing in my life until I met my husband. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. One thing I did after my grampa passed that seemed to help was to put together a special photo albulm of him in my life, now whenever I miss him and grandma I get out my memory book and relive those precious memories. God Bless Jackie G.

Oh, Dawn, my heart feels for you. What a hard thing to deal with. My Dad died of lung cancer two years ago this August and the battle was so hard. It is hard to watch a loved one during their final days. Please take comfort in the fact that your grandfather is no longer hurting. He is at peace. My prayers go out for you and your family during this time of loss. God bless, Andrea
