6/7/04 Roll call and goals
Good evening, all!
How did you do for your goals last week? What are your goals this week? I did okay on my goals from last week. I did get up at 5:00 a.m. 3 days to walk before going to work. I did get things wrapped up at school as well. Now, I should be relaxing and beginning to enjoy my summer, but I started classes today to finish my master's degree. Yuk! On top of all that, my toddler is sick with a virus and fever (I had little sleep last night), my teenager gets his wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow morning and my husband is being forced into work third shift Monday through Thursday of this week (he usually only works Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Therefore, goal number 3 is a must this week!!!
My goals this week:
1) 4 days of exercise (at least 40 minutes each)
2) Quit eating crackers or pretzels for snacks
3) Don't go crazy with classes and homework and family stuff!
4) GET HOMEWORK DONE!!!
What are your goals now? We're waiting to hear from you!
God bless,
Andrea
Hi
I have had a bad weekend. Dad yells at me, while I'm helping him organize his computer area, and tell me never to come home again until someone asks me to. Mom is on my side, and says don't listen to him. But I told her, it was fine, I don't need to be treated this way. I've been crying, and trying to keep up with my goals, School started today and I'm all stressed about that, I got a whole lot of homework for tomorrow, and it's going to be a late night. I got some unpacking done, but still having problems going through things. My goals, is to drink more water, walk, and don't call home to try to talk to mom, since Dad always answers. I'll wait until mom calls me. Oh, yeah, and get my homework done. I'm at the point, where I'm not sure what I'm doing or going in my life. I'm taking my Antidepressent, but half the time I can't keep it down.
Sorry to vent. Life sucks today.
Take Care
Lisa Young
Lisa,
So sorry that things are going bad for you. Just remember that us post-ops have to have a little bit of selfishness to be sure we are doing what is best and right for us. I know that it will be hard, but try to concentrate on you right now and on your eating, fluid intake and exercising. Also, on that homework (doesn't it just stink?) If you can't keep your meds down, call your doctor, hon and see if they have something in liquid form or chewable - something that will help you be able to keep it down.
Don't worry about the vent- we're here to listen when you need us. Hope that today is better for you. I said a prayer that things will get better every day for you.
God bless,
Andrea

I'm here I'm here! Well, my trip to Denver is out so my goal is not to get depressed & cry the rest of the week! Now for weight goals! Penney's in Sioux City had a big sale going on, they are closing downtown store to move to mall. I bought a good pair of shoes to walk in & are they ever comfy & have not caused any hip/leg pain at all! Maybe I have found the right shoes for a change! My goal is to walk, walk & do some more walking. I know how important shoes are & it seems like mine always lose support in them due to weight I know. Seems these days I'm walking with a lighter step as I'm so proud of myself The scales aren't moving but the inches seem to be yet. Another plateau? Seems that way. Also, my incision is healed over so another goal is to get to the pool for water walking.
I have to share a funny with everyone, it's my dad & his ways of joking with me. Actually he is quite supportive & loves to give me a bad time. He asks how much have you lost now & I told him 28 lbs. He says turn around (so he can see my rear end) & then says yep I can tell now! My rear end has always been a joke cuz there has never been much to it even as big as I am. He compliments me all the time on my losses & how I'm looking better all the time. I'm so lucky to have the family support from dad & my kids. As for Denver, next reunion in 2 years I look at it this way they won't know me then!!!!
Have a good week!
Hugs,
Carolyn
Carolyn,
Sorry that your trip is not going to happen. Don't shop too much now because of being upset (something I would do!) Glad that you found a good pair of walking shoes. I think that it makes all of the difference. Too funny that even your dad measures your loss by the size of your patootie! You are fortunate to have that support. Keep up the great work!
God bless,
Andrea
Hey, girl, with your busy week ahead of you, you need to have a goal not to go crazy, like me!! When you are feeling stressed with everything going on, that's the perfect time to ask your mother-in-law or Jason to watch the girls so you can go on a power walk. I'll be checkin' on you Friday!
Talk to you soon,
Andrea
Hi Andrea:
I did a little better at getting online when I was in town. I also
went to the Thinner You support group last night in Rock Island.
Did a horrible job on water, so I'm focusing on water and
excersize this week. Are you taking classes at Ambrose? I'm
year round there and I'm in all summer. My office is in the
Galvin Lobby. I'd love to see you if your around.
Good luck this week,
Eileen
