Went in for my checkup yesterday, suppose to see Dr. Shinnerl, BUT Sherry forgot to schedule me in wait til I talk to her next week ! Dr. had just left for Ida Grove so Kathy called him & went ahead & weighed me & took vitals. I have lost total of 25 lbs now! YESSSS & not only that I was able to wear that outfit that's been hanging for 12 years in the closet!!! I was so excited & felt on top of the world! So patting myself on the back for all of this I FINALLY feel like the surgery has started working for me! Town rummages tomorrow here & someone has an exercise bike & there are a few bikes for sale as well, think I'll be first one banging on doors! Would be nice to have an exercise bike when we are getting all this nasty rain, more this weekend is predicted. Wanted to share my news with everyone! Have a great weekend. Hugs, Carolyn

Congratulations! How did you keep your sanity when the scale wasn't moving? I am so stuck. I'm doing all the right things. At least 70 gms of protein and 64 oz of fluid. Keeping carbs and fat low. Walking about 20 mins a day. Why doesn't it come off???? My doc has a web site to use to track food and exercise. I'm using about 1100-1200 more calories than I'm eating. And yet the scale won't budge. Logically, I know that sooner or later it will happen. It has to. And I know that my body just has to catch up. But it's frustrating! Please tell me this too shall pass! Again, good job! Hope you find your bike! Lyn

Congrats, Carolyn! Are you able to walk as well? I know that I read an article in one of the ObesityHelp mags about a study that NASA did to determine the best exercise for losing keeping weight off and burning calories for the astronauts. They found that walking 2 miles a day at your own pace would do the trick. I started at a half mile and now walk 2.2 miles at least 3 times a week. I have yet to get the courage to ride a bike. Might try it this afternoon! Keep up the good work! God bless, Andrea

Congrats Carolyn! Good things come to those who wait, huh? Bet you were feeling pretty sassy in that outfit! My scale started moving again, so maybe this is our lucky week. I'm having some troubles with vomiting now, and am going in for labs this afternoon, they put me on an all LIQUID diet for a week, and are scheduling a barium swallow test. (Checking to see if I have a stricture.) Francie P Lap RNY 4/27/04 -26 lbs.

Francie, Congrats on your weight loss! Doesn't it feel sooooooo good? Know I'm feeling better! Let me know about the stricture, I got sick last weekend & that's the first thing I thought of since it was supper time & I tossed my lunch! Instead it was nerves. Let me know how you are doing please. Hugs, Carolyn
