a newbie (Dr. Prasad?)

Hello everyone I think I might have introduced my self here about a year ago and then disapeared. Well here I am again. Before my computer crashed and I got busy with school, and surgery just didnt seem like an option I could obtain. Now, however I want the surgery more then ever. I havent been to my PCP yet because I am waiting for hubby to get insurance. Plus I have to get a job so we can close our house. After closing though I plan to go full force to get the surgery. I have looked at some of the surgeons and I am wondering if anyone has used Dr. Prasad or anyone in his office? No one is listed under his name. I used him for my gallbladder surgery a year ago. I am so scared of undergoing the surgery. I keep switching between wanting the lap band and then thinking an rny would be the way to go. Guess I'm going to be waiting to see what a dr. says. I also feel like I am going to die on the operating table. Well sorry this is so long. I Just wanted to introduce myself to you all, I've been reading the boards a lot and couldnt resist. First of all Welcome Amanda! Sorry, don't know anything about that doc so can't answer that one. A lot of insurance companies won't pick up the tab on lap band anymore, so be prepared for that. And your feelings on dying are natural. ANY kind of surgery is risky, but more so of us that are MO. Keep posting your feelings & questions that's what we are here for! Carolyn

Amanda, Sorry that I did not respond sooner - my computer is on the glitch and actually getting fixed today. I have not heard of that doctor, but I am on the other side of the state, near Davenport. My cat keeps walking back and forth in front of my laptop screen -- anyone thinks she is wanting attention? LOL Anyway... I think that may be the doctor my friend used, but she is not registered on this site, and I really do not know for sure. Let me find out and I will get back to you. If it is the doctor she used, then he was very very good. He checked on her a lot before and after the surgery. Seemed like a very nice man (he came in to check up on her once when I was at the hosptial visiting her). Take care! Mandi
