A glimmer of Hope

Hello to all, I am fairly new to this site, and have been struggling a great deal lately..I want to have the surgery, but I have no insurance. I don't want to get too excited before I know it's even possible, but in the last day I have seen a glimmer of hope to the fact that it is quite possible I will be able to have the surgery. Please keep me in all your thoughts. Thank you so much. -Miranda

Miranda, welcome to the site...this is a great site to visit and get support. we all get down.. people here dont judge us cuz they know how we feel cuz they have felt the same way or still do feel that way. have you looked into title 19. they have different programs i was on the spend down program that is how i got mine paid for.....if you need anything let us know..........lynda

Lynda, I wish I could get title 19 believe me, but I don't qualify, I don't have any children and I'm over the age limit, I don't think there is anywayfor me to be approved for title 19. Thanks for all the well wishes. -Miranda

Miranda, i was told that everyone qualifies for the spenddown program if the governer does...it is worth checking into...but i can be wrong to...that is what my case worker told me when i was losing my title 19...Lynda

How do I even go about doing this.. I'm ready to put up the fight of my life I'll tell you that! Insurance to me is such a foreign area lol. Any help would be soooo appreciated. Thanks Lynda. Miranda

Miranda, you need to go to your county dhs office and ask if you can fill out papers on the spend down program...and then set up appointment and then they do the paper work...i was pissed due to the fact they dont tell anyone about this program and there are alot of people out there that could use it..i have to apply every two months. but after looking at the paper work you can get it for six months at a time....but it is worth a shot....best of luck!!!!!! I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up!! They said there was no way I would be approved....I have no children I'm over 21 and I"m not considered disabled. Thanks though Lynda, I truly do appreciate the help. Miranda
