Need Help with Walk From Obesity

OK, I am need of people who are willing to help with this great cause and event in Des Moines. I am the event chair for the Walk from Obesity here in Des Moines. I am on the look out for people who would like to be on the walk committee. This committment will include a montly meeting and then the closer that it gets to the walk on Sept. 18 then the more the meetings will happen. I would like to get the committee together ASAP. If you are interested in doing that please let me know ASAP as we need to get our first meeting done. Also let me know when you would be available to meet and what times. If you are not wanting to be a part of the committee but still want to volunteer between now and the day of the walk I also want to know that as I am going to need several volunteers to make this work. This is a GREAT cause and will bring awareness to the people in our communities about this epidemic. There will be media coverage and corporate sponsors so this is a BIG time event, however, education is going to be the goal. I would appreciate it if you would look deep into your hearts and committ to helping in this great cause. This is very near and dear to me cause I was obese most of my life. I know that many of you can identify with that as well. It is a great way to let people know that we are not just lazy and all of the other myths to being obese. Hi Stephanie, I'm also on committee in Sioux City for the walk. It is for a wonderful cause. We are going to have booths set up along the way, example, Curves, hospital etc good healthy kinds. Also there is going to be a run set before the walk. It's going to be pretty much an all day affair. I missed the last meeting lol I was having surgery that day. Our next meeting is Tuesday night. Oh, Barbara Thompson will also be in Sioux City on the 17th of Sept, day before walk speaking. From what I hear she is totally AWESOME. Good Luck, maybe we can compare notes? Hugs..Carolyn
