Alliance Select or Mercy Capital Hospital

I was wondering if anyone had Alliance Select PPO Insurance, and if so, how long it took to get approved. I have my initial phone interview on Tuesday and just curious how long it takes to get approved and have the surgery. Has anyone had surgery at Mercy Capital? I am figuring approximately 8-9 months. Maybe longer?

Joan, I don't have a clue about the insurance or hospital because both that I have are different. Just wanted to say hello and wish you luck in your journey. God bless, Andrea

You can look on the insurance page for ppl that had alliance select and it will give you a general idea of how long it might take for approval. I am going thru mercy capital also but I have Iowa Health Solutions. Just go to the GO Local tab at top and on the page it takes you to it says insurers and they are in alphabetical order, I have seen lots for alliance select.

I went to Mercy Capital. It was a very positive experience for me. It took me about 5 months to have all of my tests done, visit the different drs that they require and get released from all of them for surgery. I am hoping that it won't take 8-9 months for you. I don't know about the insurance though sorry. Good luck on your journey and keep us posted. Stephanie

Hi Joan...I have Alliance Select PPO, and I was approved fairly quickly (in a week). I had surgery at Mercy Capital almost 3 weeks ago. I doubt it will take you 8-9 months for surgery. It all depends on your current health and what testing you'll need. Likely, you'll have to have a psych evaluation and visit a sleep specialist. Getting scheduled for those appts can sometimes slow you up a little. I had to have some additional testing done (echocardiogram 'cuz I took phen/fen back in 97), an endoscopy and a trip to an endocrinologist. Most people don't have all of that, but in the end, I was glad my surgeon was thorough to try to make this as safe as possible for me. Good luck, and keep us posted. Francie P Lap RNY 4/27/04

I had BCBS Alliance Select.... they approved me the day they recieved it! It was fabulous! I also had diabetes with insuline as a co-morbidity..that might have helped. I hear they are good about approving the plastic surgery also. We'll see ... if and when i need it... ok.. WHEN... ~Dawn
