I'm 17 days post-op, and have been having trouble with cramps in my left leg during the night and when I wake up in the morning. Have to get out of bed each time to walk about to make it go away! Is this because of some vitamin/mineral I'm not getting, or what? Anybody else have the same problem?! Francie P Lap RNY 4/27/04 -16.5 lbs

Are they in your calf area? I used to ge t cramps while I was pregnant because of low potassium. It was like having a charlie horse in my calf....don't know if this helped.... Tammy

Hi Mary...I have had restless leg syndrome for years, and have been on medication from the sleep doctor for it for a couple of years. (Isn't it the most annoying thing?!) It hasn't been as bad since surgery, surprisingly. This is different -- more like a charley-horse. I'm wondering if the leg compression stockings I have to wear for 30 days at night could have something to do with it. Francie

Francie - I got legs cramps in the middle of the night when my potassium was on the low side. Mush up a banana and eat it. Call me if you need anything.
