The same thing happened here in Fort Dodge at Tropical Smoothie. They started having kid's wraps and i asked if i could order one of those and showed them my gastric bypass card. They then told me that the "owner" said they couldn't sell kids wraps to anyone over the age of 12. I WAS PISSED. I called the NATIONAL FRANCHISE OFFICE and complained to them... using the word "discriminatory" quite often in my "speal", and guess what? I got a call from the owner telling me she didn't realize what was going on and that of COURSE i could order a kids wrap. lol... I'm just mean or stubborned..or both... If it is a private owned restarant you are probably out of luck, but it never hurts to ask to talk to the owner. Fight for your/our rights! There is no reason we should have to pay more when we eat LESS than a #$%@$!! 12 yr old! ~~Dawn Phillips

I'll probably get flamed from this reply, but this is just my opinion!!! I had this surgery to be normal. I don't want special treatment. I chose to have this surgery, so why should I expect someone to make exceptions for me. I enjoy eating out. There are so many things to choose from and I just take the leftovers home and have a second meal. How much do you actually save by eating off the kids menu? Three or four dollars,if that? Again - just my opinion!!

krista..you are missing the point... its not about saving money. its portion size. i dont want to see huge plates of food. the sight of it makes my tummy go yuk. a childs size is more normal. why is obesity almost killing more people than smoking. we have to learn to eat normally. and if ordering from a kids menu helps, why not. its another tool in my book.
