Welcome Alicia! I am a pre-op and also have severe sleep apnea. I love the cpap machine - I look like a dang elephant with that hose on my head..lol Actually I'm sure the cpap machine has saved my life so far. You are further ahead in the process than me. I have to wait to get approved for disability to then go to my surgeon. The Government Sucks! Let me know if you ever want to talk! Take care of you! Don't be a stranger! - Carol

Thank you all so much! I have also applied for disability and am waiting to hear. I started this journey six months ago and am finally getting somewhere. I began thinking about this surgery 2 years ago and last fall finally got up the courage to ask my doctor for help. I am scared and a little nervous because its major surgery and there are always the what-ifs because I have a 6 year old son at home and am worried about him, but I also know if I dont do something soon, I may not be here to see him grow up. In the long run I know this surgery is for me and now along with being a little scared and nervous, I am also so excited to get things going.

I know I am having RNY but not sure if it will be lap or open. I just figured out what surgeon I would be having at Mercy Capital. I will be seeing Dr. Smolik. I have been waiting for them to figure things out for the last six months and are now finally getting going cause I keep calling and bugging them LOL! Thanks for your warm welcome.
