Preop testing
Hi all, How are you on this gorgeous Thursday in Iowa?
I am having some preop work done on Friday(5-7). I am having a chest x-ray, EKG, and then some blood work done. My doctor didn't say anything about not eating or fasting or anythingthe 12 hours prior to the tests. Is it normal for those tests?
I don't have to so anything ahead of time?...
It is my primary doctor helping out the WLS dr. in Ames. So he is not real familiar with things. I don't want to second guess him, but I also don't want to have to make the test up on a different day. Does any of this make any sense?
Did any of you have any instructions for those tests and blood work. The blood work is CBC(complete blood count) and CMP(comprehensive metoblic Panel?) I think
Any responses would be much appreciated. Thank you for always being here to help out with questions and concerns. You all have been awesome.

Surgery is May 19th
Tammy,
I had all that and more. In addition, I had an ultrasound of my gallbladder a physical, and some breathing test. I had to have an empty stomach (fasting) for the blood work. (no food or beverage in until after my blook was drawn. That is about the only instruction I remember.
Good luck on your tests and upcoming surgery!
