I'M FINALLY HOME!!

Hi All! First of all THANKS for all the thoughts & prayers from everyone. Special thanks to Janet, Kelly & Laura for their visits & flowers. You gals are just to great I came out of surgery painless, had such an easy time. Dr. Shinnerl came in the day after & asked if we had been to surgery yet! On Friday I went for the leak test & wouldn't you know it had a pinhole leak The good news is it healed over & I was free to go! I ended up with a central iv line as the high protein stuff was blowing my vains. LOL here I am getting a pain pill for THAT & didn't have any after surgery! Dr. & I had a laugh over that one. My hospital stay was great I was treated so good. I started telling the staff I was a guest not a patient. Since they were pumping me with some pretty high octaine I've only lost 9 pounds so far. Know it will come in time but was hoping for more! Thanks Janet for posting for me. I'm alive & well feeling fantastic! I see Dr. again on Tues. am on clear liquids until then & will see after that. Glad that you are home and that the leak healed itself! You had us a little worried there. Take it easy when you are home and try to get a lot of rest. God bless, Andrea

Thanks a bunch Andrea! Sorry, didn't mean to worry everyone! Dr. didn't want to do surgery again, he was so concerned about the heart. And I was so lucky it was a pin hole leak that would heal on it's own. Not over doing will gradually work back into things. See Dr. S again on Tues so hoping by then can get off the clear liquids... Hugs Lynda! Sorry you had those blasted headaches, they are no fun I know. It's ok you didn't get a chance to call, I was tearing up the hallways most of the time from sheer boredom. Welcome to the losing side Carolyn - if I would have known you were still in the hospital I would have come up to see you. Glad to know things are going ok - Let me know if there is anything I can do for you. I remember those central lines - my ex-fiance had them after esophagus surgery with Dr. S. Thanks Carol!!! Feels good to be a loser for once! Don't think I'll ever go IV again, central is the only way to go for me. My veins aren't good to begin with so this is a good option for me. Dr. S is the GREATEST!!! Hugs Carolyn
