U of I Dr. Maher is leaving

Learned last week that Dr. Maher is leaving - took a promotion to somewhere in Virginia. They do over 600 surgeries a year there. He was a good doctor and I'm thankful to have had him.

I was sad to learn this too.....I found out last month....He is a very caring and sweet surgeon.....Now I am just waiting to see who will do my follow up care.....They are hiring someone new.....so it will be the new person or Dr. Samuel....we will see.....He will be missed by me! Jesi

Allee, Sorry to hear that your surgeon is leaving. Jesi told last month when she found out. I hope someone good takes his place for you all. I was reading your profile. Did you have your surgery in 2002 or 2003? How far out are you? I don't think that I have seen you post much before. It's nice to see a new name here. God bless, Andrea

If you're asking ME when my surgery was - it was nearly 11 months ago -- 2003. BEST thing I've done for myself in 20 years.
