M & Ms

Okay, this is really strange. I'm having surgery May 13th. So knowing this was the path I was going to take, I gave up chocolate candy for Lent. Today a co-worker thought we were all crabby, so she brought us some M & Ms in an Easter egg, probably about the amount in the vendo land package. I ate them. Boy, did I feel sick afterwards! I think this is a good thing! I DON'T LIKE CHOCOLATE ANYMORE!!!!!!! I am so ready for this! I've been able to distinguish what is emotional hunger and what is real hunger. I've pretty much been able to stop the emotional stuff, but I am just really hungry most of the time. Four weeks from today I will have crossed to the "other" side! Have a good evening! Lyn

Hi Lyn, This is way to funny! My granddaughter shared a couple of her M&M's today & they were wayyyy to rich! I'm scheduled for Tuesday (20th) for my surgery. Being diabetic I don't have chocolate much but those things sounded sooo good...YUCK!!!! Our minds sure work on us don't they? Good Luck with your surgery....Carolyn

Can't even stand the thought of eating them now. I dumped on a graham cracker crust made with splenda - I'm sure that I would dump on m&ms. Congrats on learning how to control the "chocolate monster"!!~! God bless, Andrea

I had an M&M episode today ... Sunday! Was making up some little packets of munchies for a 'doings' at work. There were about 1/2 dozen M&M's left in my bowl when I finished and I popped them in. They were OKAY - but not GREAT like they would have been in the past. TO SUGARY. Every now and again I like to let a Hershey's Kiss melt decadently on my tongue. But typically it's just to much. That said ... I could still gorge myself silly on things like jelly beans and weird stuff like that. (No - I don't dump.) Well ... maybe I do. We were coming back from Nebraska last Sunday and pulled into the east side of Des Moines there by Adventureland. There was a ... can't remember it ... home of the butter burger ... CULVER'S??? Well, anyway we went there. I was SO HOT and when I walked in I saw CHOCOLATE MALT on the menu. Being so hot - that sounded great (and I don't usually really go much for ice cream). Well, also being vegetarian I opted for an order of onion rings. I know, I know ... but we were on a 'vacation' of sorts ... almost home - back to reality. Anyway, I sipped about 1/3 of my malt (yummy) and ate about 1/2 of the o-rings (yummy) ... got into the car and started the rest of our trip. About 15 minutes later - it was immediately imperative that we stop ... NOW!! And ... while I didn't FEEL sick - I did have diahrea. Don't think I'll try the o-ring/malt combo again any time soon. Question - Does MILK products cause dumping? Maybe I'm lacto-intolerant? I don't dump on anything else. Ramble, ramble ... sorry!
