Thanks to all of you!!

Hi everyone!! I want to thank all of you for your support, and messages of encouragement!!! I had my open RNY on April 2, in Grinnell. Dr Monte Schwartz was my surgeon. He did a great job!! The staff at the hospital were wonderful!! Thank you Judi and Andrea for calling and checking on me!! I really appreciated it!! My friend Kathy who was to have her surgery the same day as me was unable to have hers, due to an abnormality in her ekg. We were both dissappointed, but to be truthful, we would probably not enjoyed each other's company afterwards any way!! The first three days were rough, and then I woke up on the fourth day feeling almost human!! I'm happy to report that I feel really good now! So far, knock on wood, the eating is going very well!! I have not had any vomiting or dumping yet. I'm getting all my liquids, and average about 65 gms of protein every day. I went back to Grinnell yesterday, to have my staples taken out. I'm down 19 lbs!!!! Kathy had her surgery on April 12. She's doing pretty good. Thanks again for all your support, Good luck to all of you on your journeys, I'll update soon, DeeAnn R.

So glad to hear that you are home and doing well, DeeAnn. I'm sure that it was shocking to hear from me. I had a few minutes that morning and just happened to see Judi's post. (She never did tell me how she did on her test that day.) W0w, you are doing well with the protein and fluids! I was not able to do that well at first. You have a great start to your weight loss! Are you taking care of you still? Be sure not to take on too much of the work at home, as us women tend to do. Welcome to the "losing side". God bless, Andrea

DeeAnn, Glad to hear you are doing so good and your friend is doing good also.....and i am so impress on how much protein you get in a day. i havent been able to do so well but getting better.....good luck on the weight loss.......lynda

You're on your way ... you'll be SHOCKED at how fast this next year goes. I'm 11 months out and can hardly believe it. It's been a pretty good year.
