Weekly goals/roll call for 4/12/04
GOALS? Oh yes those things that we are to try to accomplish every week. Well I have been stuck at the same weight for 3+ weeks now. So I guess I need to walk walk walk. I did find a breakfast protein bar, very chewy but has 24 g protein AdventEdge apple cinnamon they fill you up. I did try on some shorts in a springy mood and went down 2 szs so that was inspiring. I keep forgetting to measure myself to see how many inches. All I know is my top is getting small and it seems to be falling to the middle and my bottom is about down to my knees. Oh well time to get walking. My dogs absolutely love it. Good luck to you all for making your goals
Lisa - so glad to see you posting. Don't be a stranger here. More people than just me will be glad to get to know you! Keep on getting in those protein drinks and "JUST DO IT" with Ramon - walking I mean!!! See ya next week.
Deb - It was so nice to meet you this past weekend. I always look forward to meeting my wls buddies!! Did you find out about the tickets to A land? We're waiting to hear. Good luck on organizing the summer schedule. My schedule includes enjoying my family, camping, fishing and tanning my butt (NOT literally my butt (GROSS) but you all know what I mean!) Let me know if you need me to fax a food diary to you.
Sunny - Uh oh, now Deb knows where you work and live - BEWARE - she might just visit!! (JUSt kidding) I bet that you would have to run to keep up with her because she chases almost 2 year old twins. By the way, the yummy treat that I made I call "crustless cheesecake". It is so simple. Beat 8 oz of fat free cream cheese until smooth (room temp is best) then add 2 cups skim milk and 1 small box s/f, f/f white chocolate pudding mix, and a splash of lemon juice and continue to mix for the time noted on the box. Put in fridge to set completely. My family dips graham crackers in the mixture but I can't. Even though I can't eat the graham crackers, I still feel like I am getting a treat! Enjoy!!!
Eileen - I'm so glad that you are no longer lurking! We are enjoying meeting as many wls buddies as possible for support! I hope to meet you soon since we're neighbors! About the carb cravings, are you getting in enough protein? I would be concerned that you are missing something in your diet - a vitamin or mineral. Does anyone else have some insight into this?
Laurie - As always, it was nice to see you again. You will probably lose more than 1 pound doing all those situps with that tan belly of yours!!
Lynda - good goal on the vitamins. I need to do that one too. How about making a goal to give your son an extra hug a day and see if that helps. You can't chicken out on that date because we are waiting to hear all about it!!!
Tammy - Glad that you love your job. Keep workin' on that homework! You're almost done, right? When is graduation? Let us know so we can celebrate with you!!!
Jeri - maybe are you dealing with PMS also - thus the fluid gain? I won't touch a scale till after "that time of the month". I bet that you're getting "buff" with all your working out.
Leslea - Glad to hear you are walking so much! Down 2 sizes is wonderful! Congrats! (Just a note, have you checked the calories on the protein bars. They tend to have a lot of calories. I save them for when I am out and about or using them as a protein supplement.)
I know that there are still more of you out there that can set some goals with us. Let's hear from you, too. Here we go ladies, let's have a good week!!!
Andrea
My goal is to meet Andrea at the support group in Davenport Wed the 21st! I see the surgeon MAy 5th and need some ideas for what to buy for post op. This is such a neat group! You all are such an inspiration. I am anxious to get to the "other side". My mother was also one of those critical moms. She is glad, I am "finnally doing the right thing, although years too late!" She is such a peach. I have wonderful support from friends and family so I can just tune her out.
Thanks CYNDI
Hello.....I am a day late....but I need goals none the less!!! Have some major ones......I need to exercise......I need to stick to my menu and thats it!!!! They don't seem so hard but I have been doing bad lately! Everyone have a great day and good luck with the goals....I know I need all the luck I can get!!! Jesi
Wow ladies, we got a lot of goals to meet between all of us this week.
Elizabeth, you are just too wonderful!! You have always been good to all of us. You are wonderful to your mom and by what we hear, you are a terrific aunt! Prayers continue to be sent for your mom. Hopefully she will be home and on her way to recovery soon. I have tried to step up to the plate with supporting everyone while you have been so busy, Elizabeth - you are the perfect model of how to be supportive and loving for everyone. Thanks for the example.
Cyndi, how sweet to want to meet me. I have sooooooooo many questions for you. Who is your surgeon? Who have you met with at the center so far? You can always e-mail me if you have questions or if I can help at all. I love to chat with others and will be a support for you if I can be.
Jesi, dear, I'm sure that you are not doing that badly! What do you plan on doing for exercise now, since water aerobics is not always an option? Walking would be nice with the girls this week. Do you have a stroller that will fit them all? Keep working hard, girlie - we will succeed and do well on this journey!!!
Hugs to all of you,
Andrea
