I'm 8 wks post op and feel tired and don't feel like eating anything. I know I don't get in 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. I also feel like a baby constanting sucking on a water bottle, although I admit it's watered down crystal light. Sick of protein shakes so have been getting eggs down in the morning okay as long as they are yolky. ALso able to eat a little meat but everything is just so blah. I crave having a hoagie but am terrified of trying to eat bread, I had a little piece of toast and was sick for days. Surprisingly I do okay with corn tortilla's no sugar in them and 2 g protein and they chew up and go down well. I think I have lost maybe 1 lb in the last 2 weeks. I did put on my jeans that used to be tight and now they practically fall off so I know I have lost inches. I am waiting to get a digital scale the old dial ones aren't accurate enough for me. Well enough ranting here. Have a great week and think spring!!

Hang in there Leslea! You are doing fine. I'm still doing 3 protein shakes because it's difficult to eat enough protein. Luckily for me I don't mind them. I've been fighting getting the water in for the last 4 days. For some reason it is giving me trouble.

I will be six months out next week. I have gone through all the feelings you have. I once hit the wall and didn't loose anything for 3 weeks. Talk about depressing! But the doc said just drink more water and walk more and your body will start loosing again. It is not that unusual to stop loosing for a week or two. I have now lost 101 lbs. in six months but I also lost 34 lbs before that getting ready for surgery. So all in all I have lost 135 lbs. Still have a ways to go. My loss is only averaging 2.5 - 3 lbs. a week now. I also can eat chips without any trouble.I like to melt some cheese on them and dip salsa. I can eat all kinds of spicy foods but no steak, roast beef or pork loin yet. Maybe some day. I use a lot of spices and salsa to give things a little favor. I also like chile and that goes down well. I still get depressed sometime but I talk it out with my wife and it passes fairly soon. I wish you all the good luck in the world. I will get through this and will be like a new person before you know it. Peace, John

Leslie, I feel your pain. During those first couple of months, I wasn't hungry and didn't want to eat. Eating felt like work to me. Something that I had to do but really didn't enjoy. You know you need to get your protein and water in. Find things you can tolerate and enjoy. Maybe a hi-protein smoothie. If you want a hoagie, maybe you can remove hte bread and just eat the insides. I today always remove at least 1/2 of the bun on any sandwich I get. Another thing to think aobut is Subway. They will put any of their sandwiches into a tortilla. Jus****ch the sauces as they are very high in fat. Hang in there, this is a tough time but Ihave no doubt you will pull through it. Focus on the goal. Janine

Just a thought......... I have found that the more I eat (within reason of course!) the more weight I lose. If you aren't getting enough to eat, your metabolism could be slowing down, thus slowing down your weight loss. Try eating a little more- a handful of almonds or nuts here, a handful of cheese cubes there, good source of protein too. Anyway- just a thought! You'll get through this! Lori

I agree with ya Leslie. I am in to week 6 post op and I don't feel like eating at all. My weight has stalled for the past week and a half, but I did weigh this morning and was down another 2 pounds. I stopped walking for the past 2 weeks so that was probably a major factor. I just think to myself whent the pounds aren't coming off that is when I am losing the inches. You are doing great!!
