depression as in crying at commercials or for no reason at all? depression as in feeling that life will never be the same and feeling really bad driving by Appleby's and realizing that I won't be able to eat their steak and shrimp special for a long time. depression as in what in the heck have I done to myself and when will I wake up from this nightmare? Nope never had it. LOL I think it is almost like post partum depression. the anthesia does it I think, plus the changes your body has been going through. I had depression before, so I just increased my meds for awhile (with dr's permission). as for energy, I think I am having a little more energy every day. it helps that I have to get up to go to work and then get out and do things.

Hey Colleen, I know exactly what you're saying. I dealt with the depression right after surgery, but here recently it's been creeping back in on me. Some of it I know has to do with things here at home, (I'm already starting to get emotional over my daughter going off to college and she's only a junior!) but part of me has to wonder if a part of it also has to do with the surgery. Think about it, we are about 1 1/2 post-op and you can eat more, tolerate more foods, for me, my weight loss has stalled and I'm not at my goal yet. I have decided to change my exercise routine and start training for a couple of 10K races. Now I don't expect to win anything, but it gives me a new goal (instead of numbers on the scale) and it is something that I have always wanted to do and never been able to. So, my advise would be to set a new goal, wether its personal or professional (in you job) and go for it! Kris
