Need Help with NO SNACKING
My first 7 mos. post op I was very devoted to NO SNACKING. Now, due to my work schedule and weird hours so my eating times have drastically changed. On the days that I wor****il 8 I don't take my lunch until 4 and from 8:00 am when I have my protein drink that is a long time and usually have to have something to eat at about noon or 1. I usually have some peanuts or reduced fat whole wheat crackers. I stop when I get full. Then when I go home after 8 I ususally have something to eat as well.
I would appreciate any suggestions that anyone has to help me to stop the snacking. I also have some sweets, however, I am limited as I do dump when I have to much.
Thanks,
Stephanie

PS I have been at my current weight since just after Christmas and have not been able to get the scale to move since then. I exercise 4 times a week and do not drink pop or caffene. Any suggesstions would be great!!!!
Stephanie, each Dr. is different in their post-op eating recommendations. My Doctor reccommends eating 6 small meals a day. I start the day with a protein drink (6AM), I eat 1/2 cup of nuts mid-morning (9:30AM), Lunch is a cup of yogurt (12PM), a mid-afternoon snack (2:30PM), dinner (5PM), and a light snack in the evening (7:30PM).
I try to keep teh snacks at 1/2 cup to a cup of food and avoid having carbs as they make me tired. My Dr. told me that he recommends 6 small meals becuase it helps to keep your insulin level constant as well as your energy.
I hope this helps.

Stephanie-
Do find find you can eat alot more, too? I'm at 7.5 months out and I'm really have trouble! The old tricks of eating meat to fill the pouch, just don't seem to be working any more. I joined a gym 3 weeks ago, am taking high powered vitamins, working on the stationary bike 4 days a week, and, like you, I'm not seeing the scales move all that much. I know things start to slow down, but this is ridiculous!

Jeri-
I do find that I eat more in a meal which they say is normal since the pouch is stretched out a bit now. I eat my protein and then I do veggies or fruit and if there is room I have a carb. I usually don't get to that point as I get full on the protein and veggie or fruit. I have to remember that muscle weighs more than fat. My clothes are fitting better now, however I am wanting to get in that last 30 pounds to meet my goal. I get so frustrated at this point and I am worried that I am done losing already, however in my mind I know that I still have until 12-18 mos post op. I can totally see you frustration and I sympathize with you. Keep your head up and we will get through this together.
