Hey Denise B - Endoscope procedure
Hello
Before I went in for mine, I was scared. But should not have been scared. Yes, they do sedate you, they put some medication into your IV and makes you go to la la land. They also spray this stuff before you're a sleep into your mouth, (back) side, to make it go numb, (I believe), tastes horrible.
The procedure only takes about 15-20 minutes. You go into recovery room and stay there for about an hour and after your surgeon comes in and talks with you, you get to go home. They have a new surgery room and new recovery room. They just opened it up this week.
Hope this helps. They say this is not uncommon. Had mine with Dr. Eibes. He's good.
Take it easy, and let me know how it comes out.
Take Care

Hey Denise,
I have had over a dozen Encoscopes... They are not that bad. Sometimes you go all the out with anethesia, sometimes it's alot of muscle relaxers, and medicine that just puts in you in a relaxed state. It mostly depends on what they are doing...I got put all the way out when they stretched my pouch; when they were exploring it was just the relaxers. You don't remember anything and besides a little bit of a tickle in your throat and wanting to nap there no after effects. If you do get put out ask for anti nausea medicine...
The worst part is nothing by mouth for 8 hours prior. I was SOOOOO thirsty.
Take care and feel better soon.
