Karen, Hopefully someone else can tell you about the lap band procedure. I have an open RNY at the Bariatric Treatment Center in Illinois. I have had no ill effects from the surgery (not even dumping). I know that Dr. Glas**** in Waterloo does do a Lap-RNY and some people on this board have had him. One thing I can tell you it having surgery does change your life. Janine

Karen, I had open Gastric Bypass... So I am not sure about the Lap Band... I am two weeks post op and have lost 17 pounds... I feel great and would do it again... Hope this helps you some.... Jodi
