DENIED!!!

United Health Care denied my surgery. I am not having it on the 26th. It has been canceled. They denied on the fact that it (my policy)specifically says that they do not pay for bariatric surgery. I got a called from my surgeon today who advised that I look at the website asbs.org and let them know what was going on. So that's what I did. Now I will wait for their answer to see if there is anyway we can get this taken care of.

Teresa" I also was denied by United Healthcare times 2. They won. My policy had an exclusion and their was nothing I could do. I now have Principal and they denied me too. I have to be on a 6 mo supervised diet. This has been going on since last august. I just got tired of submitting appleals. the bottom line is I lost over and over. The Mercy weight reduction place that I go to, won't even submit again. Surgery has never been scheduled until they say "Go" Good luck to you. Hope it is better thatn mine . Shine

you can try and apeal to the state insurance commissioner. If your Dr. says that it is medically needed, it may get approved.
