Have you ever noticed.........
Have you ever noticed that a good portion of WLS support groups hold their meetings at resteraunts? I just find it comical that we strive so hard to beat the demon hovering over us and then when we finally get ahead we have our support meetings in resteraunts...LMAO.
Now I am NOT putting anyone down. I realize that resteraunts are one of the few places that we can all gather and not have to pay for a meeting room. Hell even someone 1 week post op can sip hot tea and such. I am just saying that for some reason it struck me funny this morning.

I have to agree, Amy. As you know the informal support group from Sartori in Cedar Falls meets at Bishops. We met last Sunday. Everyone pulled out their card that told they had the surgery & got charged as a child. Still, I had to pay $3.50 & could hardly eat anything.
Still, it's nice for the pre-ops & the families. Also I find it a real good learning experience. Although I rarely goto resteraunts now, I will have to ocassionally. This way I can see how other WLS handle it.

I know; it's very ironic!!!
Our Clinton group was looking into having a it at church or something. But in our case there's only about 10 of us, and Happy Joes doesn't charge us for the room. Some of our pre-op ladies I know have mentioned feeling funny about walking into the pizza palor.
They do honor are ID cards for reduced prices.
Our support group at Davenport is at a hospital but, not everyone from Clinton can make the time or drive... So we are going with this for now.
Some of us ROWDY girls have an meeting after the meeting at our favorite bar. (I KNOW NOT A GOOD EXAMPLE!!!) LOL
