Hello Went to my surgeon (Dr. Eibes) yesterday. A week early, had my surgery December 22, 2003, I'm still draining, throwing up and all that. Found out that from throwing up and holding my 7 month-old niece when I had to take care of her I have a small hernia. Which he is not going to fix until I have the tummy tuck. and 2 he thinks my pouch is swelling closed so he has given me Nexium, to try to open it back up. If I keep throwing up, then it is endoscope time, to stretch the pouch back open. I weighed at 347 at surgery and now I'm at 302. I'm excited. I start work Monday, the 26th of January. I'm excited, but I feel that I may not be able to handle it. But we'll see. One more question, when was it comfortable to wear jeans? Just curious, I know some people it's different. Thanks. Take Care Lisa Young

Hi Lisa, Congratulations on the weight loss. I know the first couple months are bad... but things pick up. I had lots of endoscopies.... (approximately 10 in the first year and 1/2) they are really not that big of deal and I felt SOOOO much better after they were done. Now my stomach is finally stretched. The seemed to worked much better than any medicine... (that was my experience anyway) I wore my stretch jeans right away but the others didn't really feel comfortable until 3 to 4 months..., by that time I was digging for my "thin" jeans and they were baggy. It's just my observation but the last thing to get smaller is the tummy area. I lost my butt right away, then the weight came off pretty evenly. The last thing to go were the chest, and tummy. anyway take care Paula

Lisa, Sorry your having a tough time of it. I've had scopes done before, presurgical though and they weren't too bad. Good luck on your first day back and congrats on the weight loss. Keep your chin up it will get better.
