Hi Shine! Do you see your doctor on a monthly basis? If so, you are weigh-in each time probably. Call your doctor and get your dates and weights for the last six months. That should be considered physician supervised. My insurance accepted that and I needed 2 consecutive years of documentation. Sherry

Dear Shine: I'm on my six month diet right now, I'm just going to my regular Dr. He did refer me to a dietician also. Just make sure each time you go to get weighed, that they document it!!! Good luck, don't give up, we'll get there!!!! It just might take us a little longer!!! DeeAnn

Shine, I was sorry to hear that Principal denied you also. But it sounds as though they weren't saying it's exlcluded at all. I'm sure you've read other profiles where some folks have taken over a year to finally get approved. It's not an impossibility, just harder than we want it to be. I would get to your PCP and have them start you on a monitored program. Maybe even try Meridia or something like that - if you haven't in the past. And if they can't they should refer you to a clinical dietitian who can monitor your progress. Six months is a drop in the bucket over a lifetime of being overweight. YOU CAN SUCCEED! I know it's difficult and frustrating. But they are not excluding you, just asking for one more mountain to be climbed. Show them you're up to the challenge. I'm rooting for you! Take Care - Deb W.
