Pouch Rules For Dummies
This is a site that I went to often when I was a new post-op and while doing research. Since there are so many people that are only a few weeks out or just getting approval, I thought I would share. If anyone else has other sites that they also get lots of info off of, please post a link through this thread.

These have the same information, the second has less graphics and loads faster than the first.
Also, if you have a good recipe that works well with your pouch, please post it so others can try it. Thanks.

This is also another good site to look at.

Julie, do you follow the rules abou****er loading and the eating quickly? that is of course directly opposite of what I am being told, but I want to be successful, so what are your secrets?
Also does anyone know what the protein is in tofu? I have an old recipe for Tofu cheese case using splenda and I thought that might be a good source of protein,
3/4 egg supbstitute
10 1/2 oz silken firm tofu, drained and cubed
9 T splenda
1 T lemon jice
1 t vanilla
1 cup nonfat ricotta cheese
Blend everything in food processor until smooth. bake in preheated oven at 325 degrees F, 35 to 40 minutes, remove from oven, cool 15 minutes at room temp. refrigerate, top with fav. fresh fruits.
Yes I too am wondering if alot of post-ops follow the water loading and eating quickly strategy. I realize this advice was for people who are more than 6 months post-op not the new post-ops. Everything he says to do in that regard is the opposite of what I've been doing. He says to gulp as much water as possible 15 minutes before a meal (even says some people should be able to gulp 1 1/2 cups). Eat your meal quickly (within 15 to 20 minutes) and then not have anything to drink for 1 1/2 to 2 hours after your meal. This all makes sense to me because your belly would stay full longer. I'm just wondering if this is what others are doing? Also if you are doing this, are you finding enough hours in the day to get in your 64 ounces of water per day?
Thanks for any feedback!
