I have a appointment with Dr Bayne tomorrow morning. I am excited about the process but nervous about possible problems. Never again will I discount the fact that complications are possible. When I had my RNY I was totally confident that complications happen to other people and I was reasonably good health... so No Worries. I learned the hard way that's not the case. If I go through with this, I will have a living will and have my medical power of attorney plus all of my finances caught up... (when I had my surgery the water bill had been forgotten and they shut it off in the middle of winter) My father had many choice words; none of them printable for general public. I was still in intensive care but my son say the Water Company actually appoligized and had the water back on in 1/2 hour....LOL Looking for any topics to bring up with the surgeon. Thanks Tare care everyone Paula

Paula, Wow, you are not far from home. I am in Long Grove, outside of Eldridge. I think that we are about 30 miles apart. Congrats on your weight loss and for thinking about surgery again. After reading your profile, it is a wonder that you are not "surgery shy". Did you have your surgery done at Genesis with Stoner? Genesis now has a new program - Genesis Center for Bariatric Surgery. I was patient number 12 through the center. They offer really comprehensive follow-up care with psychologist, dietician, surgeon, physical therapist, etc. They also have a support group meeting once a month. E-mail me if you would like some more info., or you can get on their website. Sorry for the plug for the Center. Who is the plastic surgeon you are seeing? Good luck with the consult. God bless, Andrea

I just got back from the appointment with Dr Bayne. He's very professional and puts you at ease right away. He is going to put in for a the abdominoplasty and masteoplasty. (tummy and boobs) I had my surgery at Trinity; with Dr Stoner he's no longer practicing. I know some of our support group is joining up with the Genesis one. Our last meeting is this coming Monday, (lost our place to meet) I have been thinking about this for quite awhile and decided to check into it, I still have not totally made up my mind. How are things going for you? Paula
