I am new here
Hi, my name is Tracie, and I am new here, but certainly not to the horrors and shame of being overweight. I am tentatively scheduled to have the RNY open surgery on Feb 6 04. My family, other than my husband is not very supportive at all. Of course, with my mother if it isn't about her, then it isn't important....sigh... Anyway, I am excited, yet terrified at the same time! I weigh 504, and have to try real hard to be as far under 500 as I can before the surgery. I am looking for people who can offer me some support as well as advice. Thanks.
Tracie
Welcome to the group Tracie. You will find a very supportive group of folks here. Some people are still pre-op like you well others are post-op (like myself).
Who is doing your surgery? By knowing this, maybe there is someone here who can tell you what to expect from the facility and doctor. Again welcome!
Tracie,
Welcome to the site. I've gotten a lot of good info and met some really great folks on this site and I am sure you will too.
As far as losing some before surgery, you might try either Atkins or Weigh****chers. Atkins might be a little less expensive since you can do it from a book. But either way, just put forth your best effort and don't worry about gaining it back this time -- and remember when you're looking at how much weight you lose TOTAL, you can add those pre-op pounds too!
Sounds like your journey has really begun now. Keep the faith.
